My problems relate to a Dial-Up Connection

A dial-up connection consists of a number of components. These start with your computer software, pass via a computer modem and down a telephone line. At our end we then have telephone lines, modem banks, connection software and backend data files.

The trick to troubleshooting a connection is to start with the obvious and then start systematically eliminating the other trickier problems. By the way - when we mean the obvious we actually mean the really - really must have a sense of humour obvious. To proceed we work down the pipe....

Lets start eliminating ....

Step 1. My software may have errors?

These are problems related to your computer. These will show as errors on your computer system, for example "Port in Use". If this is the case : Click here to continue.

Step 2. My modem / telephone line may have errors?

Again another obvious check but one we need to make. If your modem is not working correctly and connecting to the telephone line correctly you will either not get connected, will have line drop outs or will find your access speeds are down. If this is the case : Click here to continue.

Step 3. Problems at the TECH 2U end?

Problems here can range from our system specifically rejecting you (have you paid the account?) through to incorrect and invalid usernames / passwords. If this sounds like you : Click here to continue.

If your problem is not one of these try one of the following topics.
