Email Spell Checking

Area: Electronic Mail
Topic: Spell Checking

Background
A number of clients have asked us if they can spell check their messages before sending them.

Answer
Yes you can. Particularly when using the Outlook or Outlook Express mail tools.

Outlook and Outlook Express use the spelling checker provided with the Microsoft Office 95 and Office 97 programs, that is, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. If you do not have one of these programs installed, the spelling command is unfortunately not available. If they are installed then in the New Message window, click the Spelling button on the toolbar, or click the Tools menu, and then click Spelling.

Last weeks tip was on Windows Short cuts, the short cut for the spell checker in Microsoft Outlook is F7 (the function key F7).

Extra Tip: To customize the way your spelling checker works, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then select the Spelling tab.
