Blocking Incoming Spam
Area: Electronic Mail Background When an email message arrives on the TECH 2U mail servers the sender is checked against a known list of "spammers". These are people that repeatedly send out large quantities of unsolicitored bulk emails. Typically "porn" or "get rich quick" type messages. If a message arrives from one of these people the servers are instructed to discard the email message. On a typical week our servers trash between 50-100,000 junk email messages of this kind. If a message arrives from someone who is not identified as a "spammer" but the message still looks like "spam" the mail server will pass the message onto the customer after placing the word {SPAM} in front of the subject line. This allows the customer to set their own computer to delete these types of messages should they wish to. To Setup Blocks
Method 1. Using the {SPAM} flag
Method 2. Using Blocked Senders
