Topic: Restoring Your Outlook Electronic Mail
Background
A number of users have asked us how they can restore their electronic mail in Microsoft Outlook.
Answer
Please note that the following proceedures are valid only for Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option.
You can determine this by opening Outlook and clicking on Help and then About Microsoft Outlook. Look for the "Internet Only" option.
Pleae note that this option is only available if you have previously backed up your Outlook files, remember we can not recover what was not backed up in the first place.
1. |
Find where your .pst files were located. Write this flder name down.
|
2. |
Find out where your backup copy of the files are located.
|
3. |
Copy and paste these files back to the original location.
|
4. |
Keep in mind that if you overwrite your existing PST file with your backup PST file, any new data since the time of the backup will be deleted. If you have recent data that is not on the backup copy of your PST file and you don't want to loose the recent data, then you can use the "Import" command to add data instead of overwriting.
