Setting up Netscape Mail - Version 4 / 4.6 on your Computer System

You can either elect to recreate your user account on your system or check the existing settings. We suggest that if you elect to check existing settings and it does not find / fix the problem you should opt to recreate the email account before looking further. This sometimes corrects software problems on the computer.

In either case you will need to know your "username" and "password" before proceeding. This is located on the your initial connection confirmation or from our Support Desk.

To create / recreate an email account on your system

Open the Netscape software - there is no need to be online at the time
Click on the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences"
Click on "+" next to "Mail and Newsgroups" on the left
Click on "Identity" - again to the left
Next to "Your name" type in your name
Next to "Email Address" type in "username"@tech2u.com.au
Click on "Mail Servers" on the left
Next to "incoming Mail Servers" click on the "Add" button
Click on "General" tab
Next to "Server name" type: mail.tech2u.com.au
Next to "Server Type" select "pop3 server"
Next to "User Name" type your "username"
Click "OK"
Click "OK" again
Your Netscape software should now be ready to send and retrieve email

If this does not solve the problem we need to look elsewhere.
