About Attachments

Attachments can be one of three kinds: MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension), Uuencoding and BinHex.

Your e-mail program must be able to attach files by one of these methods and to detect attachments in (preferably) all three of these methods. The two browsers used as examples in these notes can do this.

Examples of the sorts of files you can send as attachments are: pictures, word processing documents, sounds, movies, programs and compressed files.
