Favourite Pages

Both Netscape Navigator (by using Bookmarks) and Microsoft Internet Explorer (by using Favourites) let you mark your favourite web pages. This adds the address of the web page to a list. You can display the list and select a web site from it at any time.

Bookmarks in Netscape Navigator Version 4.0

To use Bookmarks in Netscape navigator, follow the steps below.
  1. Display the page you want to add to your list

  2. Select Communicator/Bookmarks/Add Bookmark. The web page is added to the menu that appears when you click the Bookmarks button (beside the address box).

Select Communicator/Bookmarks/Edit Bookmarks to see your menu of favourite pages. You can organise these using folders and separators.

File/New Folder will create a new folder to drag bookmarks into.

File/New separator will add a separator line to the menu of bookmarks.

Select File/Close when you are finished.

Favourites in Microsoft Internet Explorer

To add to your Favourites folder, follow the steps below.

  1. Display the web page you want to add to Favourites in your browser.
  2. Select Favourites/Add To Favourites. The web page will be added to the list of favourite locations in your Favourites folder.

  3. Note: Your favourites folder also contains your favourite documents, folders etc from other Microsoft programs; so be sure to organise it carefully.

Select Favourites/Organise Favourites or Open Favourites or click the Favourites button to see your menu of favourite pages. You can organise these using folders.

Clicking on the Create New Folder button will create a new folder to move items into.

Selecting an item, clicking the Move button, and clicking the folder you want the item to move into will put that item in that folder.

Click the Close button when you are finished.
