Shutting Down

When you are ready to leave your computer and turn it off, follow the steps below to shut down safely.

Save and close all the documents you have been working on. Close all application programs. Click on the Start button. Click on Shutdown.

The following window will appear on your screen.

• Make sure the Shut down option is selected (has a black dot next to it) and click on the OK button.

Your computer will now shut down. The Windows logo screen will appear. At the bottom of the screen is the message: Windows is shutting down.

• Wait till the orange message on the black screen appears: It is now safe to turn off your computer.
• Press the Power button on your computer to turn it off.
