Customising Folders You can customise your individual folders in Windows 98.
- Open My Computer.
- Open the C drive.
- Open the My Documents folder (we will customise this folder).
- Select Customise this Folder from the View menu. The following window will appear.

- Select the option you want to do (add a web document, add a background picture, or remove all customisation). We will add a background picture to the folder.
- Select the second option, Create a background picture. Click on Next. The following appears.

- Click on the background Blue Rivets.bmp and click on Next. A confirmation screen will appear.

- Click on Finish. The folder will now have a background of Blue Rivets.
- Check the My Documents folder to see the background in it.
Removing Customisation
- Select View/Customise Folder.

- Select the third option, Remove Customisation. The following dialog box will appear.

- Click Next to remove the customisation. The following will appear.

- Click on Finish. The background will vanish from your folder.
- Open My Documents and check that this has happened.
- Close the My Documents folder and any other open windows on your desktop.
