NOTE all information supplied via a GEDCOM file from Bruce Kerr (email May 2003). He was enlisted in the first War and served at Gallipoli. Later he was involved in a blast which half buried him and the long term effects of this unbalanced his mind for a time. He was given a pension after a medical discharge but the effects may have ruined the rest of his life. Bruce Kerr lists five children.

NOTE detail from Bruce Kerr. Immigrated to Australia aboard the barque JERUSALEM, from London, with 377 bounty immigrants and a general cargo, was towed up the river by the Boko and anchored in the stream opposite the Botanical Gardens. The new arrivals were transhipped speedily as possible and taken round to the depot by steamer. The voyage put was an exceedingly pleasant one. Concerts were often given and did much to relieve the monotony of a long sea voyage. There were six deaths and six births during the passage. The following is Captain Breach's report of the voyage:- The Jerusalem left Gravesend at 1 PM on Friday 20th July, and experienced strong westerly winds; Anchored in the Downs on Saturday, and lay to until Monday; light westerly winds prevailed down the Channel , and the pilot was landed of the Start on Friday, 27th July; took our departure from the Lizard on Saturday, 28 th July; had light winds from the North and east to lat 10o 49' N,; got South east trades, in 3o N., and crossed the line o 20th August in 20' W. long.; lost the South east trades on 29th August, in 23 o S., and experienced light winds and calms to 36o South., which was reached on 12th September; passed the meridian of Greenwich on the 24th September, and ran the easting down the parallel , with favourable wind to Tasmania, which was rounded on the 14th October; had westerly winds up the coast to Sydney, where we reported on Saturday, 20th October, 8.5 days out; experienced strong Northerly winds and unsettled weath , with very heavy thunder and lightning , till arrival; reached Cape Moreton on Monday night , 29th October , but being unable to get a pilot stood off for the night; came in on Tuesday and brought up at Brisbane bar at 5:30 PM. Several concerts took place during the passage , at the last of which a collection was made for the benefit of the crew for their kindness during the voyage.
