CHRISTENING Stoke Bruerne Par.Church, Northants Rec.Off.Ref.303P/13 See nos.622 & 623. There were two baptisms this day, Alfred is listed as son of George and Ann Smith of "Shitlanger", and Enoch listed as son of Sarah Smith, a spinster. George and Sarah were 1st cousins. Marylin Ponting speculates that the baptismal records for Enoch and Alfred Smith are mixed, and the wrong children are listed for the right parents. This matches the census data better.
CENSUS 1841 Shutlanger, Northants. Film no. 438873, page 13. Age 3. Listed in family of George and Elizabeth Smith parents of Sarah.
