Inserting Text To insert text, you click where you want the text to go and then type. What you type will be inserted in the document.
- Open the document The Gingerbread Man.
- Scroll down until you come to the last section of the document, reproduced below:
The Gingerbread Man ran down the road until he came to a cow. The cow called out to him "Come here so I can eat you for my lunch."
The gingerbread man replied "Run, run, as fast as you can. You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man." And he ran away down the road. "Come here so I can eat you for my lunch."
The gingerbread man replied "Run, run, as fast as you can. You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man." And he ran away down the road. "Come here so I can eat you for my lunch."
The gingerbread man replied "Run, run, as fast as you can. You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man." And he ran away down the road.
- We will work from the bottom up. Click at the start of the last occurrence of the line
"Come here so I can eat you for my lunch."
- Press Enter once (to move down a line).
- Type the following:
The gingerbread man ran down the road until he came to a horse. The horse called out to him
- Press Enter to move the speech to a new line.
- Move up to the next occurrence of the line "Come here so I can eat you for my lunch" and click at the start of this line.
- Press Enter once (to move down a line).
- Type the following:
The gingerbread man ran down the road until he came to a boy. The boy called out to him
- Press Enter to move the speech to a new line.
- You can click in a line and add a word in a similar way.
- Click just before the word boy you have just typed.
- Type in the word school, so the word is now schoolboy.
- Click before the other occurrence of boy and type in the word school.
