The Format Painter
- Open the file Clancy of the Overflow.
- Select the first occurrence of the word Clancy.
- Change the colour of this word to red, and the style to Arial Black.
- We will use the format painter to copy this formatting to all the other occurrences of the word Clancy.
- Select the formatted word Clancy.
- Double click on the Format Painter button.

- As you move your mouse pointer back over the document, you will notice a paintbrush next to it. This means that the format painter is on.
- Click and drag over the second occurrence of the word Clancy. The formatting changes colour red, style Arial Black.
- Click and drag over all other occurrences of the word Clancy in the poem.
- Scroll back to the top of the document. We are going to copy the formatting to the words of the Overflow as well.
- Click and drag over these words at the end of stanza one.
- Scroll down through the document and click and drag over these words on the last line of the poem.
- We have now finished our formatting. Click once on the Format Painter button to turn it off.
- Save and close the file.
